I'm so sorry to have offended you and your beliefs. I didn't realise I had logged into the Catholic fan club website.

You do not have any authority to say that anything I have said is untrue. These were my experiences while being involved in this false religion. You clearly have a strong bias towards the catholic faith and good on you I say. Do what you like. But after spending nearly half my life in Catholic instituions I think my opinions are as vaid as yours. Quite frankly I don't need to support what I say about bullshit teachings. My opinion is based on living with their behavior and what I saw every day. And what stood out to me the most were pictures of the pope plastered all over the place with his hands piously outstetched in his come to me pose. (sickening).

If you say that Mary isn't just as important why is one of the main prayers that we were taught to say repeatedly over and over the Hail Mary ? Why were we taught to pray to her? Where is the prayer to pray to Jesus? Sorry, of course....that would be the our Father!!!! what a load of twaddle. And while I'm on the subject of prayer...why the hell were we praying to saints?.....who says they are so holy? oh of course, that would be the Popes and their cronies. Cause of course....they have that authority cause THEY are so holy. And by the way. I clearly remember the pope being referered to as "our holy father in Rome"

So I'm not sure who you think you are saying that I didn't check out my own faith? Since I never chose it. I was simply exposed to it. It is not and will never be my faith. Just as Jehovahs Witnesses will never be my faith because I dont believe their false doctrines either.

If the JW's are in the dark they certainly are not alone. They are in good company with the Catholics. I was brought up Catholic, went to Catholic schools and participated in all their ridiculous rituals. They are experts at keeping their followers in the dark but they do it quite differently. JW's provide copious amounts of information to support their beliefs (biased? Definately, but arent all religions). Catholics simply teach you must believe and thats that. No need to explain or answer any questions. Just listen, do as you're taught, worship our Father the Pope who's image dominates the hallways and classrooms, even more dominant than Jesus in fact. I think Jesus may even come close third after Mary. Never mind if you don't know what the hell they are talking about. Just accept that they know what they are talking about and you don't. Both are biased in their own way. Both as guilty as each other. Both seeking to control.

I have studied with witnesses for a number of years and must say for me the appeal was the way they liked to answer questions and research things. After the Catholic dogmatic arrogance this was truly refreshing. Unfortunately this turned out to be just another way of misleading people. But refreshing none the less.

So back to the subject at hand, would I ever have faith in a catholic bible....absolutely not!...would I ever have total faith in any translation of The bible....absolutely not....the only way to find the truth i believe, is to compare, see what makes sense and make your own mind up. Is it good that the NW translation does not make public who their translators were....NO. But the fact that ALL bibles are biased to some extent makes the argument null and void to me because, does knowing the identity of the translators make any bible more correct than another?....NO

I know that I have gone quite a bit off track with this one but these are the thoughts I was having while I read your posts.

I am hearing you. I remember when I was much younger having some very strange experiences. Lets put it this way, they certainly convinced me that there is evil in this world. So I really don't like to put much faith in voices or the like. They always smack of demons to me. In fact, the more I pray, the less of this type of thing occurs in my life.

You don't need to look to far to see who it is that is talking to invisible entities. Either the insane, or tarot card readers, clairvoyants etc. Plenty of that going on. To the point where it is so acceptable now people think you are strange if you don't participate.

The only thing I can say to you is that life is a journey and it really is never about the destination its about the journey itself. So lay back and enjoy the ride. Ask God for guidance and you will get it if thats what you genuinly want. (he might not talk to you though, hope you're ok with that....ha ha).

Hi Punkofnice (like the name by the way)

I think I understand the proof you are wanting, but I would have to say from my own personal experience that no matter how hard you look you will never find it in ANY church. In fact they only mess up your mind and confuse the truth.

Trust in your heart, genuinely ask God for help to find it. keep searching.

The Soul

so we were all taught basically this thought.

the soul is our life, not seperate and not something that moves on when we die, right?

yet, for those who die and get ressurected, jehovah remembers them and makes them come to life with their memories, personalities, appearance and so on, right?

Hi Factfinder,

I like your processing. I too have studied for some years now on and off with witnesses and have got to the stage where i think some of their teaching makes sense but dont like the heirachy. Governing body formula ie 144,000 and anointed theory.

I am also looking for truth and really get concerned when people have just swapped one religion for another then try to preach their new religious beliefs like they are facts. (I was becoming guilty of this myself so speak from experience)

Personally I don't think anything is impossible for our creator. After all....he even created our SOUL. Think about that. If you think it is amazing that he created Heaven and earth and bodies and plants and animals etc etc...how much more amazing is it that he is capable of creating a soul!!! And as mere humans with our limited knowledge we presumptuously take it upon ourselves to decide if he can bring us back to life. If he can give us our old bodies back or if you believe the soul goes to heaven...that he can change us to spirit creatures.

For me at the moment, the one saying I do like of the JW's is that the truth is getting brighter. Because for me it is. But not through the annointed or any other religion created by man. But by faith and a belief that if I truly want to know the truth and not what I want to hear or believe, God or Jesus will show it to me because anything we ask according to his will he will give us.

So it comes down to what is in our hearts, and he knows this. I have to keep a check on mine to make sure I don't go off on too many tangents.

He shall prove to be what he shall prove to be and we should not forget this. In our lifetimes we can only hope to touch on the Glory that is God. He knew we wouldn't be able to cope with the full facts thats why we have enough to keep our search for him going. And as far as I am concerned it is that search that is important and the condition of our heart during that search.

So may God bless your search, I look forward to reading some more of your comments.

(these are only my personal feelings on the matter at the moment. Not facts set in stone. And of course since I am continually learning some of these feeling may be different tomorrow. But today, this is how I feel)
